Black beans are an affordable and versatile legume. Native to North, South, and Central America, they are also known as black turtle beans, caviar criollo, tampico beans or frijoles negros.
 
The scientific name for black beans is Phaselous vulgaris, an epithet shared with many other popular bean varieties such as pinto beans, white beans, and kidney beans.
 
Our Black Beans are 100% natural, raw, with no additives or preservatives. Dried black beans typically need to be presoaked, drained, and then cooked prior to consumption.
